DevJournal — My Developer Notebook
DevJournal is my development notebook and a collection of lessons from real applications. I explain technical decisions, problems encountered in production and the solutions I implemented, preserving the reasoning behind each fix and making it useful to other developers.
Content and identity
The blog brings together technical articles, resolved bugs and milestones in my professional journey. Topics include Symfony, React, APIs, authentication, AI integration and VPS deployment. Its terminal-inspired interface uses command-style navigation, monospaced typography and a layout designed for reading.
Features
- Search and navigation: search across titles, summaries and content, type filters, tag pages and sorting by date, popularity or featured position.
- Reading: estimated reading time, a progress indicator, syntax highlighting for code examples and suggestions for other articles.
- Editorial management: a rich text editor, cover images, tags, drafts, post duplication and publishing controls through EasyAdmin.
- AI assistant: streamed DeepSeek responses and relevant article recommendations based on titles and summaries retrieved from the database, with context from the open article.
- Distribution: sharing metadata, article structured data, a sitemap and an RSS feed.
Implementation and recent improvements
The platform combines PHP 8.4, Symfony 8.1, Twig, Doctrine and MySQL with EasyAdmin, Vite and Tailwind CSS. A Node.js/Express service handles the AI assistant. September 2026 updates improved typography for long-form content and fixed the administration asset build.
My role: conception, full stack development, interface and editorial workflow design, AI integration, writing, deployment and maintenance on my VPS.
Skills in practice
Combine editorial publishing, reading comfort and content discovery using Symfony/Twig. The DeepSeek assistant recommends articles from their published titles and summaries.
